HURRICANE HELENE INFO

Redington Beach is located in evacuation Zone A.  A mandatory evacuation has been issued for Zone A.

Sand and sandbags are still available for Redington Beach residents until 7pm Wednesday, September 25th, 2024, weather permitting.

Redington Beach Town Hall will be closed Thursday, September 26th, 2024 and will re-open on Friday, September 27th, 2024 if conditions permit.

At this time, there are no plans to close the bridges, but please monitor the news and alerts from Pinellas County.

Beach accesses at 157th Ave., 162nd Ave., and 163rd Ave. are closed until the threat of storm surge has passed.

9/24/24 – We are now in a hurricane watch, expected to become a hurricane warning by the end of the day Tuesday. Storm Surge watch has been issued. 5-8 feet of storm surge possible.  Please prepare accordingly. Sandbags are available for Redington Beach residents. 

Please take this threat seriously!

1. Prepare your home for possible flooding.  Sandbags, barriers and other flood proofing methods should be implemented.

2. Move your vehicles to higher ground.  If you are utilizing a store parking lot, please check with the store manager to make sure you are allowed and your vehicle will not get towed.

3. Mandatory evacuations have not yet been issued, however, if you prefer to leave the barrier islands to keep yourself and your family safe, you can do so.

4. Timing of the storm surge has not yet been confirmed.  They expect the worst weather conditions to arrive on Thursday.  

5. PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED WATERS! This pushes water into homes, causing more flooding. RESPECT YOUR NEIGHBORS.

Sand and sandbags are available for Redington Beach residents ONLY. Bags are available in Town Hall. 20 bag limit per address. Bring your own shovel.
